Static Electricity
Electricity is energy that results from the movement of electrons. In static electricity, the electrons are at rest. When electrons gather together in one place, a build up of static electricity occurs.
Example of Static Electricity
- balloon-hair
- wool jumper-balloon
Friction
Charging by friction occurs when objects are rubbed together causing electricity to move from one object to another.
Induction
Charging by induction occur when the charges on an object are moved around without it actually touching another object.
Conduction
Charging by conduction occurs when electrons are transferred from one object to another different direct contact.
